Honestly I didn’t know much about Ozu films until quite recently, but Pinterest kept showing me these beautiful color stills of “Good Morning” so I decided to check it out. Because it’s an old film, at first how people talk sort of threw me off a bit, but I really loved how nothing really happened for a good half of the film, and then drops some knowledge about saying good morning to each other and what that means but in quite short sentences. I also loved the kids go to the neighbors place to watch TV because they don’t have TV: I can relate as I used to go to my friends place to play Nintendo when I was in 1st-2nd grade. Those details make this film special. I loved radio calisthenics scene so tried animating for practice.
